Pirates III = awesome
Minervacat, Triskellita, Darastar, LN, N. and I hit the Local Consolidated Theaters (And Wow, What A Totally Unromantic Name That Is) tonight to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and it was totally money. Min and I anticipate that the wank regarding this movie started roughly five minutes ago — that’s allowing for travel time back from the theater and writing up a scathing commentary, unless of people flame lj via BlackBerry, in which case I just assume it is the end of the world and have done with it. I adored the film, thought it was hugely fun, and am more desperately in love with Jack Sparrow than ever.
So. Should I actually spend money and see it in a theatre, or should I wait for the DVD?
I’d definitely say go see it in theater–there’s something really amazing about seeing all the effects and the HUGENESS of this film.
OH GOD DITTO TO EVERYTHING YOU SAID. And also, multi-Jack? Multi-awesome! And the ending was actually something I didn’t expect in a million years, so rock on for that, as well!
Totally satisfied with this as the wrap-up for the trilogy, though I wouldn’t at all mind having a million more PotC’s, cause srsly, more Jack = more awesome.

A friend and I also went opening day, but to a matinee after lunch out.
I enjoyed the Will Turner/Jack Sparrow face time, thought Capt Dad was fun, but still feel that Elizabeth could just be dispensed with. Did you stay to see the after-credits bit?
